about us

Terpsicore Dance Company was founded on the principle of combining the strength and beauty of ballet technique with the free and expressive movement of modern dance. Our driving force is to exhilarate, engage, and motivate our audiences with innovative and progressive performances.

“Terpsichore,” the Greek goddess of dance, is our inspiration. The slight but significant change in spelling illustrates how Terpsicore dancers perform from the core of their physical being and soul. We strive to inspire existing dance audiences and also attract future lovers of dance.

danna parker

Danna started dancing when she was 13 years old as a modern dancer.  She was accepted to Sumner Academy of Arts and Sciences in Kansas City where her interests quickly turned to ballet.

She has danced with Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando, Mark O’Brien Productions in Germany and Wylliams Henry Dance Theatre in Kansas City.  She also studied at The Alvin Ailey School in New York and Kansas City.  With her roots in Phoenix, Danna returned to the Valley in 1996 and danced with The Movement Source Dance Company for 6 seasons.  Wanting to branch out on her own, she created Terpsicore Dance Company which is now in its 10th season.

She has had the privilege of working with some wonderful instructors and choreographers including Patricia Bodell, Kim Sonderegger, Bill T. Jones, Jermaul Barnes and Fred Darsow.
